Welcome to York North Family Resource Programmes, operating as The Family Place in Mount Albert, Ontario. We are a not for profit, registered charity. We provide a variety of services to children aged newborn to six years olds, along with their care providers. We offer drop-in play, educational programs and social/recreational programming. We have two large playrooms, crafts, snacks, hot lunches, organized outings, guest speakers, music programs, library programs, Ontario Early Years programs, fitness programs, special events, workshops, and a resource library.

YNFRP was established in 1991 as The Strawberry Patch in Queensville, Ontario. Two mothers with an idea to have a place to gather, share stories, support one another, soon became six mothers - and our first board of directors. This idea blossomed and other sites were established in Keswick and Sutton, with Mount Albert on the horizon.  In 2002, the Ontario Government changed its funding structure for these programs with the creation of Ontario Early Years Centres. The board at the time wanted to remain as an independent family resource program and sought to find other sources of funding. During this transition, the three original sites were closed, as the buildings became too expensive to maintain. Currently, we continue to have a strong presence in Mount Albert with hundreds of families in the region visiting each year. We are currently funded by Newmarket Charitable Gaming Association (Bingo  World), annual fundraisers and private donations.
