Code of Conduct.

The Family Place is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all families, children, caregivers, and staff. By participating in activities or visiting The Family Place, all members and guests agree to the following guidelines:

Code of Conduct.

1. Respect and Inclusivity
  • Treat all individuals with kindness, respect, and dignity, regardless of background, ability, culture, or beliefs.

  • Use language and actions that are positive and supportive.

  • Avoid any behavior that could be considered discriminatory, harassing, or threatening.
     

2. Safe and Supportive Environment
  • Ensure that children are supervised by their parent or caregiver at all times while on the premises.

  • The play spaces are reserved for children under the age of 6.

  • Refrain from engaging in behavior that could endanger yourself, others, or the property.

  • Report any safety concerns, hazards, or incidents to staff immediately.
     

3. Shared Responsibility
  • Respect the rules of the facility, including posted guidelines for the play areas, snack area, and programs.

  • Clean up after yourself and your children, especially in the snack area, to maintain a welcoming and hygienic environment for everyone.

  • Use shared spaces and resources responsibly and considerately, ensuring others can enjoy them as well.
     

4. Health and Well-Being
  • Follow all health and safety protocols, including ensuring snacks are peanut/nut-free and adhering to illness policies (e.g., staying home if sick).

  • Encourage children to play safely and respectfully with others.
     

5. Conflict Resolution
  • Address conflicts or concerns in a calm and respectful manner.

  • Seek assistance from staff or volunteers if issues cannot be resolved amicably.
     

6. Facility Use
  • Use The Family Place facilities and equipment as intended, ensuring they remain in good condition for others.

  • Report and damage/wear on toys to staff promptly.

  • Personal belongings are the responsibility of their owners. The Family Place is not liable for lost or damaged items.
     

7. Photography and Privacy
  • Photography or video recording of other families or children is not permitted without their explicit consent.

  • Respect the privacy and confidentiality of all participants.
     

8. Compliance with Policies
  • Follow any additional policies or guidelines provided by The Family Place staff or communicated during events and programs.

Consequences for Non-Compliance


Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in:

  • A verbal or written warning.

  • Temporary or permanent suspension of membership or access to The Family Place.

  • In severe cases, further actions as deemed necessary by management.
